Biography

Bernard was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 35th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft out of Niagara University.  Before the 2014 season, he signed a minor league deal with the Detroit Tigers.  Playing for the West Michigan Whitecaps in 2014, he broke the teams single season hit record with 164.  He was added to the Tigers 40-man roster on October 31, 2014.

His brother, Walter Bernard, played in the National Football League. Bernard and his family appeared in the TV game show Family Feud in 2011.
